Investing for beginners what should you invest in??

The stock markets can be a very scary and intimidating place for people especially new comers here are some of my tips on what you should do as a newbie to the investing world! As a first timer in the market I generally wouldn’t suggest buying individual companies as there is to much risk involved see below my tips on some of the other forms of investing you can try!

ETFs

ETF’s also know as ‘ exchange traded funds’ are great for first Time investors An exchange-traded fund (ETF) is a collection of securities—such as stocks—that tracks an underlying Index. The best-known example is the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), which tracks the S&P 500 index . ETFs can contain many types of investments, including stocks, commodities, bonds, or a mixture of investment types. An exchange-traded fund is a marketable security, meaning it has an associated price that allows it to be easily bought and sold. They are are also much lower risk than holding individual stocks and still have good growth

Bonds

Bonds are long-term lending agreements between a borrower and the lender. For example, when a municipality (such as a city, county, town, or village) needs to build new roads or a hospital , it issues bonds to finance the project. Corporations generally issue bonds to raise money for capital expenditures, operations, and acquisitions. for those who purchase a bond receive interest payments during the bond’s term (or for as long as they hold the bond) a lot of bonds do pay monthly dividends which is great for your cash flow at the bond’s stated interest rate. When the bond matures (the term of the bond expires), the company pays back the bondholder the bond’s face value, these are less risk than stocks and ETFS but you will get a lower rate of return
